Location: Located
in serene mountain surroundings, the resort overlooks the river
Ganga. The 100 landscaped acres it covers were once part of the
Maharaja of Tehri Garhwal’s palace. Today, part of the palace
has been converted into areas for guest use. Ananda in the
Himalayas is designed with great emphasis on aesthetics, and
showcases some very fine examples of paintings, sculpture,
murals etc. all over the resort. The word Ananda,
translated from ancient Sanskrit, means "happiness and self
contentment". The aim of this resort is to offer a total
sanctuary of the mind and body, with every conceivable five star
luxury. There is no strict regimen, and guests are free to
choose their activities under the guidance of the Spa Director
and Spa physicians.

Restaurants & Bars: The
cuisine at the resort is enriched with locally grown organic herbs and
vegetables. For non- vegetarians, river fish, white meat and small
quantities of lamb are served. The meals are carefully planned and
beautifully presented. A typical Spa meal would be low in sodium and fat,

release of energy. Internationally renowned chefs have specially developed
this signature spa cuisine.
