Day 01 Chennai On arrival Chennai, meet, assist and transfer to
hotel. This afternoon you will tour Chennai visiting some of India's
oldest British monuments, including Fort St George & the Garrison
Church of St.Mary's, the oldest Anglican church in India. Overnight in
Chennai.
Day 02 Chennai Full day excursion to Kanchipuram and Mahabalipuram.Visit Kanchipuram, one of the most sacred cities in India. Later proceed to Mahabalipuram, once capital of the Pallava Kings to see the fascinating temples. Return to Chennai in the evening. Overnight in Chennai. Day 03 Thanjavur In the morning transfer to Chennai airport for your flight to Tiruchirappalli (Trichy). On arrival, visit the Rock Fort Temple and St Joseph's College in Trichy, before driving onward to Thanjavur (2hrs drive). Arrive Thanjavur and check into your hotel. Overnight in Thanjavur. Day 04 Thanjavur Capital of the Chola Kings and home to 93 temples, you will visit the 'Big Temple'. Outside Tanjore we will travel to the magnificent temple complexes of Gangaikonda-cholapuram & Darasuram. Overnight in Thanjavur. Day 05 Madurai In the morning drive to Madurai (4.5 hrs drive). On arrival in Madurai, check into your hotel. In the evening visit the Meenakshi Temple, the Teppakkulam Tank and the ancient Tirumala Nayak Palace. Overnight in Madurai. Day 06 Thekkady Early morning drive to Thekkady (9.5hrs drive), through rice paddies & tea plantations. Arrive Thekkady and check into your hotel. Overnight in Thekkady. Day 07 Thekkady Today take a boat cruise on Lake Periyar to view the surrounding wildlife. Overnight in Thekkady. Day 08 Kumarakom This morning you will drive to Kumarakom (4.5 hrs drive) On arrival check into your hotel. Overnight in Kumarakom. Day 09 Kovalam Drive to Kovalam (4.5 hrs drive). On arrival check into your hotel. Evening at leisure to visit the beach. Overnight in Kovalam. Day 10 Kovalam In the morning you will be taken on a half day city tour of Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) to visit the Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Zoological Gardens and Aquarium. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Kovalam. Day 11 Kovalam Proceed on an excursion to Kanyakumari land's end of India. Visit the Kanyakumari Temple, Gandhi Smarak Mandir, and Vivekanand's Rock. Later return to Kovalam. Overnight in Kovalam. Day 12 Mumbai Drive to Trivandrum (1.5 hrs drive) to connect your flight to Mumbai. On arrival in Mumbai, meet, assist and transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Mumbai. Day 13 Onward Transfer to the airport to board flight for your onward destination. |
